Hong Kong's seasonally adjusted unemployment stood at 3.7% for the May to July period, unchanged from the previous three‑month period, according to data from the Census and Statistics Department released on Thursday.
The underemployment rate rose to 1.7%, while total employment edged up by about 1,500 to 3.65 million. The number of unemployed increased by 6,000 to 145,700.
The Labour and Welfare Bureau said the economy's expansion should support labor market conditions, though fresh graduates may add pressure on unemployment.
