Hong Kong's composite consumer price index rose 1.7% year over year in July, according to data from the Census and Statistics Department released on Thursday.
The reading matched the consensus forecast tracked by Investing.com and is lower than the 2% expansion in the previous month.
Netting out the effects of all government one-off relief measures, the annual underlying inflation rate was stable at 1.9% in July from June.
On a seasonally adjusted month-over-month basis, the average monthly increase in the composite CPI was 0.2%, compared with a 0.1% rise in the prior period.
