Hong Kong's total deposits with authorized institutions rose 0.9% in July, while total loans and advances increased 0.2%, according to the Hong Kong Monetary Authority on Monday.
Total deposits rose 5.8% year-on-year, while Hong Kong dollar deposits increased 6.2%.
Renminbi deposits rose 2.9% to 1.13 trillion yuan, while renminbi remittances for cross-border trade settlement increased to 1.38 trillion yuan from 1.28 trillion yuan in June.
Total loans rose 6.6% from a year earlier, with Hong Kong loans falling 0.3% and overseas loans rising 1.7%.
Total M2 and M3 both increased 1.1% in July and rose 10.2% year on year.
