HNH Energy secured an environmental qualification resolution for its planned green hydrogen and ammonia project in Chile's Magallanes and the Chilean Antarctic Region, following unanimous approval by the regional Environmental Assessment Commission, the company said in a statement on Thursday.
It submitted the project's full value chain as a single environmental impact assessment, covering the wind farm, processing plant, desalination facility and port infrastructure.
HNH Energy said the approach enabled authorities to assess the project as an integrated development, including its interactions and cumulative environmental effects.
HNH said it will now focus on obtaining the required sector-specific permits and advancing the technical and commercial work needed to further develop the project.
