Hindalco Industries (NSE:HINDALCO, BOM:500440) consolidated attributable profit declined sharply to 26.0 billion Indian rupees in the fiscal fourth quarter ended March 31, from 52.8 billion rupees a year ago.
Earnings per share contracted to 11.67 rupees from 23.76 rupees a year earlier, the aluminium manufacturer said in a filing to the Indian stock exchanges on Friday.
Revenue from operations in fiscal Q4, however, increased to 781.3 billion rupees from 648.9 billion rupees a year ago.
The company's board recommended a final dividend of 5 rupees per equity share of 1 rupee each for the financial year ended March 31.
