HF Sinclair (DINO) said Tuesday that it plans to separate its Lubricants and Specialties segment into an independent publicly traded company through the capital markets over the next 12 to 18 months.
The company said the move is intended to unlock shareholder value by creating two more focused businesses.
As part of the restructuring, HF Sinclair said it will retire its base oil refining assets in Mississauga, Ontario, with the transition expected to be substantially completed during 2027.
Following the separation, HF Sinclair said it will focus on its refining, midstream, marketing and renewables businesses while maintaining an investment-grade balance sheet.
