Hemlo Mining (HMMC.TO) said Monday an underground electrical substation servicing part of the underground mining operations at the Hemlo Gold Mine in Ontario experienced a temporary power failure on Sept. 4.
There were no injuries associated with the outage. Mining and processing in all other areas of the mine, including the processing plant, are unaffected and continue to operate normally.
A temporary electrical bypass system has been established, which has restored power at reduced capacity.
A replacement substation has been ordered at an estimated cost of $250,000.
Hemlo Mining shares closed down CA$0.09 to CA$8.29 on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
