Harmony Gold Mining (HMY) said in a regulatory filing Monday that it has launched a $500 million offering of guaranteed senior unsecured convertible bonds due 2031.
The net proceeds from the offering would be used for general corporate purposes, according to the filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission.
The bonds will be issued at 100% of their principal amount and convertible into about 18.9 million ordinary shares, representing 2.9% of the company's current issued share capital, subject to any future adjustments, Harmony Gold Mining said.
Shares of the company were down 3.2% in Monday trading.
