H&T Intelligent Control Completes Cancellation of Repurchased Shares

Shenzhen H&T Intelligent Control (SHE:002402) completed the repurchase and cancellation of 9.2 million yuan of restricted shares.

The move involved over 1.2 million shares at 7.3593 yuan apiece, according to a Thursday filing with the Shenzhen bourse.

Post-cancellation, the company's total shares now stand at about 923.4 million.

China's Carbon Dioxide Emissions Increase on Wastage of Power from Renewables

Chinese carbon dioxide emissions rose 2% in the first quarter due to an increase in unused power generated by renewables, according to an analysis published Thursday on Carbon Brief.Coal and gas usage for power generation grew in the same quarter despite a record amount of capacity for wind and solar power, Centre for Research on Energy and Clean Air lead analyst Lauri Myllyvirta said in the report.An increase in reported curtailment due to inflexible management of coal power plants and power grids, and not a lack of grid infrastructure, led to wasted power from renewables, Myllyvirta said.Solar and wind usage rates fell in the first quarter, Bloomberg reported separately the same day, citing data from the National New Energy Consumption Monitoring and Early Warning Center published in May.The inability to leverage fully China's wind and solar power sources could expose the country further to the effects of the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, the analysis said.

Petronas Gas, Tenaga Nasional Unit to Develop Third Regasification Terminal

Petronas Gas (KLSE:PETGAS) signed a binding heads of agreement with Tenaga Nasional (KLSE:TENAGA) unit Integrax, to jointly develop the third regasification terminal (RGT-3) in Perak, Malaysia.The project will be developed through a special purpose vehicle, and is based on a floating storage regasification unit (FSRU) concept, according to a Thursday Malaysian bourse filing.The planned facility boasts an engineered LNG storage capacity of 170,000 cubic metres and a send-out capacity of 500 million standard cubic feet per day.The fuel procurement and supply arm of Tenaga Nasional, TNB Fuel Services, will underwrite the terminal's capacity in phases. Full capacity expected from 2030 onwards, it added.
