Graphite One (GPH.V) said Thursday the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers recommended completing an environmental impact statement for the Graphite Creek deposit in Alaska as part of the project's permitting process.
Graphite One said it supports the recommendation and does not expect the additional environmental review to delay the project's proposed 2029 production startup. The company also reiterated its commitment to a public comment process.
The Graphite Creek project has been identified by the U.S. Geological Survey as the largest known natural graphite deposit in the United States.
