Good Purpose Investments Appoints Chad Williams to Board of Directors

Good Purpose Investments (GPIN.CN) on Wednesday said it appointed Chad Williams to its board of directors.

Williams, who is the founder and chair of Red Cloud Mining Capital, has more than 35 years of experience across capital markets, mining finance, corporate leadership, and business management, said the company.

He has also served as chief executive officer of Victoria Gold and head of mining investment banking at Blackmont Capital, added the company.

"Chad has spent his career around growth companies, capital markets, and public-company leadership, which makes his perspective especially valuable at this stage for GPI," said Chief Executive Officer George Tsogas. "As we continue building the business and pursuing new opportunities, we believe his experience will be an asset to the company and our shareholders."

The company's shares last traded June 23, closing at C$0.36 on the Canadian Securities Exchange.

Westport Fuel Systems Closes US$10 Million Financing

Westport Fuel Systems (WPRT.TO, WPRT) after close on Thursday said it completed a US$10 million financing.The company sold 1.6-million shares and 3.25-million pre-funded warrants in a registered direct offering, along with warrants to purchase up to 4.85-million additional shares in a concurrent private placement. The combined purchase price was US$2.06 per share or pre-funded warrant, including the associated warrant, it said.The company plans to use the proceeds for working capital and general corporate purposes.If all of the private placement warrants are exercised for cash, the company could receive about an additional US$10 million in gross proceeds, according to the statement.The company's shares closed up C$0.10 to C$2.98 on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
