Gold Strike Resources (GSR.V) shares rose 5.1% on Thursday after it started drilling at its Florin Gold project, located in the Yukon.
The first drill rig ,which has arrived on site is being set up on the initial drill pad. The company expects a second rig to arrive later this week.
Gold Strike also expects assay results within three weeks of delivery and initial results from hole 1 in early August, expected to be released on a hole-by-hole basis, it said.
The company's shares were last seen up C$0.02 to C$0.41 on the TSX Venture Exchange.
