Global New Material International (HKG:6616) plans to issue 1.30 billion yuan of RMB-denominated, HKD-settled convertible bonds, according to a Hong Kong bourse filing.
The bonds will carry a 3.25% annual interest rate and mature on Sept. 22, 2027.
The initial conversion price of HK$10.93 represents a 15.05% premium to the Sept. 17 closing price.
The company expects net proceeds of about 1.28 billion yuan, earmarked to refinance existing debt, including a concurrent repurchase of its 2026 convertible bonds, with the remainder allocated to working capital and general corporate purposes.
Separately, Global New Material has received commitments to repurchase about HK$990 million of its outstanding 2026 convertible bonds at 103% of principal plus accrued interest.
Shares of the firm were up almost 1% in Friday morning trade.
