GigaDevice's 10 Billion Yuan Partnership Fund Extends Investment Term; Shares Up 9%

GigaDevice Semiconductor (HKG:3986, SHA:603986) said a 10 billion yuan partnership fund extended its investment period, according to a Shanghai bourse filing on Tuesday.

The investment term of Beijing Xiaomi Smart Manufacturing Equity Investment Fund Partnership (Limited Partnership) was extended to five years from four years.

The company, among other partners, will pay an annual management fee that will be 2% of the investment cost of the partners' unrealized investment projects.

The semiconductor company invested 200 million yuan in 2022 as a limited partner to the fund.

The company's Shanghai shares jumped nearly 9% during the late-morning trade Tuesday.

Malaysia Pension Fund Pursuing Recovery of eFishery Investment After Fraud Case

Malaysia's state pension fund Kumpulan Wang Persaraan (KWAP) said it invested 163.4 million ringgit in Indonesian agritech startup eFishery for a 2.51% minority stake and is pursuing "all available avenues to maximize recovery of the investment."The statement followed a Bloomberg report that Malaysia's anti-graft agency had launched an investigation into losses linked to KWAP's investment in eFishery.KWAP said the losses stemmed from deliberate financial manipulation at eFishery. The fund noted that co-founder and former Chief Executive Officer Gibran Huzaifah was sentenced to nine years in prison in April for embezzlement and money laundering.The pension fund said it has completed an internal review of the investment and strengthened its private market investment process and portfolio monitoring after the irregularities were uncovered.
