Giga Metals (GIGA.V) after trade Monday said it started a property-wide geophysical survey program at its Turnagain Project in British Columbia, which is operated as a joint venture with Mitsubishi Corp.
"Given the scale of the system, and the depths at which we are evaluating, a combined MT/EM approach, is the next logical step to unlock the significant potential of the Attic Zone," Chief Executive Scott Lendrum said.
The survey includes three magnetotelluric (MT) lines totaling 17 kilometers, building on the MT program completed in 2025 and aims to map the geometry of the Turnagain ultramafic intrusive complex at depth, the company said.
The program also includes 504 line-kilometers of HeliSAM electromagnetic (EM) surveying, which can map subsurface conductivity to significantly greater depth than the 2004 AeroTEM survey, the company added.
This phase of work is fully funded and is set to be completed within the next several weeks. The results will help guide ongoing exploration of the Attic Zone through the fall of 2026, the company said.
Giga shares closed down C$0.005 to C$0.75 on the TSX Venture Exchange.
