Germany's annual inflation rate fell to 2.3% in June from 2.6% in May, according to provisional data from the country's Federal Statistical Office published Tuesday.
The latest reading is below the consensus estimate of 2.6%.
On a monthly basis, consumer prices were down 0.3%, against the previous 0.2% decrease and the expected zero growth.
The annual harmonized inflation rate was 2.4%, compared with the prior 2.7% and the market forecast of 2.6%. Meanwhile, harmonized consumer prices were 0.2% lower month over month, against the previous reading of a 0.1% decline and the expected 0.1% rise.
