Governor of Russian-occupied Crimea's main city, Sevastopol, Mihail Razvozhayev, has advised residents not to queue for fuel as new supplies failed to reach the city by Tuesday night, he said in a statement on chat service Telegram.
Reuters reported that the expected deliveries did not reach the peninsula due to Ukrainian attacks, based on coinciding comments by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy that his country's targeting of Russian energy assets is working.
Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in March 2022 and Russia had pummeled Ukrainian energy infrastructure, including electricity but Ukraine's abilities to conduct long-range strikes have improved and it is focusing on Russian energy.
Reuters said that fuel rationing was introduced in Crimea, annexed by Russia in 2014, due to fuel shortages.
The governor said in his Telegram messages that public transport, emergency and government vehicles would take priority for access to the next supplies that arrive.
