France's annual inflation edged up to 2.1% in July, from 1.8% in the previous month, provisional data from statistics agency Insee showed Friday.
On a monthly basis, consumer prices were 0.6% higher, against the prior 0.3% decline and the expected 0.3% uptick.
The flash annual harmonized inflation rate came in at 2.4%, against the previous month's 2% and the market forecast of 2.1%. Month over month, harmonized consumer prices gained 0.6%, against the previous 0.3% decrease and the expected 0.3% gain.
