France's annual inflation accelerated to 2.4% in August, from 2.1% in July, provisional data from statistics agency Insee showed Friday.
On a monthly basis, consumer prices were 0.7% higher, matching the consensus estimate and against the prior 0.6% increase.
The flash annual harmonized inflation rate came in at 2.7%, against the previous month's 2.4%. Month over month, harmonized consumer prices rose 0.8%, against the previous 0.6% growth.
