BP's (BP.L) ousted Chairman Albert Manifold plans to challenge his termination, claiming he was removed without prior warning or explanation, Bloomberg News reported Wednesday, citing an emailed statement from Manifold.
"I dispute entirely the characterization of my conduct and I will not allow a false narrative to go unchallenged," Manifold reportedly said.
The British oil giant's board on Tuesday decided unanimously to terminate Manifold's employment as chair, citing concerns "related to important governance standards, oversight and conduct."
BP did not immediately respond to a request for comment from.
