The euro area's private sector activity showed sustained growth in August, with the manufacturing sector seeing a stronger expansion amid a further rise in new orders and an increase in output.
The seasonally adjusted S&P Global Flash Eurozone Composite PMI Output Index hit a nine-month high of 52.1, higher than the previous 52 and expected 51.7, flash data from S&P Global showed Friday.
Meanwhile, the services PMI came in at 51.7, unchanged from the earlier reading and above the market forecast of 51.5. On the manufacturing side, the PMI stood at a 51-month high of 52.8, against the prior month's 51.9 and the consensus estimate of 51.8.
