Germany's private sector returned to expansion in July for the first time since March, supported by a marked increase in manufacturing output, S&P Global said Wednesday.
The final S&P Global Germany Composite PMI Output Index ticked up to 51.3 in July from 49.5 in June and the flash estimate of 51.2.
For the service sector, the final PMI clocked in at 49.8, higher than the initial estimate of 49.6 and the previous month's 48.6. The reading was just below the neutral 50-point mark, signaling contraction in business activity.
