The European Commission approved the joint acquisition of the Polish fuel supplier Anwim by Energy Equation, Ara and Stonepeak, the commission said Friday.
The deal gives Jersey-based Energy Equation, Ara and Stonepeak joint control of Anwim under the EU Merger Regulation, the commission said.
The transaction focuses mainly on motor fuel supply, particularly fuel sold through business-to-business fleet cards across several EU member states.
The commission found the deal would not raise competition concerns because the parties would hold a limited combined market position following the transaction.
The European Commission reviewed the transaction under its simplified merger procedure and cleared the acquisition, it said.
