Espressif Systems' Q2 Attributable Profit Rises; Shares Surge 12%

Espressif Systems (Shanghai) (SHA:688018) attributable profit rose to 198.6 million yuan in the second quarter from 167.6 million yuan in the year-ago period, according to a Friday filing with the Shanghai bourse.

Earnings per share at the fabless semiconductor company increased to 1.4314 yuan from 1.2049 yuan.

Revenue grew to 832.7 million yuan from 687.7 million yuan a year earlier.

Half-year attributable profit jumped to 334.2 million yuan from 261.3 million yuan in the prior-year period.

Shares surged 12% during late afternoon trading on Friday.
