Energy Vault Completes Acquisition of 850 MW Japan Energy Storage Portfolio From BayWa

Energy Vault (NRGV) said Wednesday it completed its acquisition of an 850 megawatt battery energy storage system development portfolio in Japan from BayWa.

The deal provides Energy Vault with an in-country platform, a project pipeline, and a local development team, the company said.

The portfolio includes about 350 megawatts of advanced-stage battery energy storage system projects expected to reach notice to proceed in the second half of 2027, with commercial operation dates expected to begin in mid-2028.

Additionally, 500 megawatts of early-stage projects provide a multi-year development runway, the company said.
