EcoGraf (ASX:EGR) started study activities for its Epanko graphite project in Tanzania under an up to 2 million euros technical assistance grant from the European Investment Bank, according to a late Monday filing with the Australian bourse.
The grant funding supports independent technical, environmental and social, and market studies to assess scalable development pathways for the project beyond the initial stage-one development, per the filing.
Specialist consultants and experts will provide independent input across work streams that include waste characterization, Epanko tailings expansion, and mechanical shaping facility optimization.
Consultant procurement is well advanced and market and waste characterization activities are underway, the company said.
