EcoGraf's (ASX:EGR) assessment of its patented hydrofluoric acid-free (HFfree) process technology for the production of high-purity active anode material confirmed strong cost competitiveness across all seven potential locations assessed across major global battery manufacturing hubs, according to a Friday Australian bourse filing.The company said the average purification operating cost is about $478 per tonne of spherical purified graphite (SPG), with an integrated supply chain delivering an estimated cost of about $1,441 per tonne, positioning EcoGraf as a competitive alternative to the Chinese supply.EcoGraf has secured grant funding totaling about AU$10 million to support development activities, it added.

EcoGraf Enters Non-binding Memorandum of Understanding With Mitsubishi Chemical

EcoGraf (ASX:EGR) executed a non-binding memorandum of understanding with Mitsubishi Chemical relating to the supply, qualification, and potential long-term commercialization of natural flake graphite, unpurified spherical graphite, and purified spherical graphite for Mitsubishi's battery anode material operations, according to a Monday Australian bourse filing.Mitsubishi will consider a long-term product sales arrangement for 10,000 tonnes per year of unpurified and/or purified spherical graphite, or around 16,500 tonnes per year of -100 mesh natural flake graphite, subject to ongoing technical evaluation outcomes.
