E&P Global Says Russian Ministry Appeals Court Ruling on Mining License Dispute

By

E&P Global (HKG:1142) said Russia's Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology appealed a court ruling in favor of the company in a case over the revocation of a key mining license, according to a Hong Kong bourse filing Wednesday.

The Ninth Arbitration Court of Appeal accepted the ministry's appeal and scheduled a hearing for Aug. 3, the firm said.

The Moscow Arbitration Court previously held that decisions by Rosnedra, Russia's Federal Agency for Subsoil Use, and the Russian Ministry of Natural Resources to revoke the company's coal mining licenses were unlawful.

The case involves the Lapichevskaya coal mine in Russia's Kemerovo region, where the company's local unit, LLC Shakhta Lapichevskaya, had its mining license renewed in April 2025 and then revoked by the Federal Agency for Mineral Resources a week later.

The firm previously said that the Russian mining licenses accounted for about HK$1.42 billion, or roughly 96% of its total assets, as of Mar. 31, 2025.
