Dye & Durham Appoints Interim Chief Executive, New Board Chair

Dye & Durham (DND.TO) said Monday that it appointed chief operating officer Todd Schulte as interim chief executive officer.

The company had established a transformation committee, chaired by Tyler Proud, which was tasked with outlining the duties of the office of the chief executive. It has now been dissolved with Schulte's appointment, a statement said.

The search for a permanent chief executive officer continues.

Mary Filippelli, who served as board chair and a member of the transformation committee, has stepped down. Angela Zhang, a director and member of the same committee, has been appointed board chair.

"Today's appointment and the governance actions being announced today are an important step toward the stability and focused leadership this Company needs," Zhang said. "The Board remains confident that with consistent execution across our product portfolio and markets, Dye & Durham can deliver meaningful value for all of its shareholders."

Dye & Durham shares were last seen up C$0.04 at C$0.72 on the Toronto Stock Exchange. This was near the prior session's record low of C$0.68.

Energy Fuels Completes Australian Strategic Materials Deal to Expand Rare Earth Platform

Energy Fuels (EFR.TO) after trade Friday said it completed its acquisition of Australian Strategic Materials (ASM)."The acquisition of ASM marks a major milestone in Energy Fuels' long-term growth strategy to build an integrated mine-to-magnet rare earth platform," the company said.The deal adds ASM's operating Korean Metals Plant, giving Energy Fuels immediate metal and alloy production capacity. The plant currently produces 1,300 tonnes per year of neodymium-iron-boron alloy and is being expanded to 3,600 tonnes per year, with completion expected by the end of 2026, the company said.Along with Energy Fuels' heavy mineral sands projects in Brazil, Australia, and Madagascar, the ASM deal strengthens the company's position across mining, processing, oxides, metals, and alloys "creating a robust platform for its planned entry into permanent magnet production", it added.Following the transaction, ASM shares were delisted from the ASX, according to the statement.
