Deutsche Bank (DB) reported Q2 earnings Wednesday of 1.91 billion euros ($2.18 billion), up from 1.73 billion euros a year earlier.
Analysts polled by FactSet expected 1.51 billion euros.
Net revenue for the quarter, expressed as the sum of net interest income and total noninterest income, was 8.48 billion euros, compared with 7.80 billion euros a year earlier.
Four analysts expected 8.13 billion euros.
Shares of the company rose more than 4% in recent premarket activity Wednesday.
