Daiwa Securities Group's (TYO:8601) profit attributable to owners of the parent jumped 81% to 56.4 billion yen for the fiscal first quarter from 31.2 billion yen a year earlier.
The financial firm's earnings per share rose to 40.06 yen from 21.94 yen a year ago, according to a Tokyo bourse filing on Monday.
Operating revenue rose 33% to 434.4 billion yen for the three months ended June 30 from 326.4 billion yen, while net operating revenue increased 42% to 220.4 billion yen.
The company expects a minimum full-year dividend of 44 yen per share, though interim and year-end dividends are undetermined.
Shares of Daiwa Securities Group fell nearly 2% in recent trade.
