Cygnus Metals (CYG.V) reported exploration results from the Copper Rand and Gwillim prospects within the Chibougamau copper-gold project in Quebec.
Results include 20.3 meters at 4.2 grams per tonne (g/t) gold equivalent at Copper Rand, and 13.5 meters at 8.0 g/t gold equivalent at Gwillim, where all nine holes drilled hit gold mineralization, the company said late Thursday.
Cygnus noted that Alamos Gold (AGI.TO) is co-funding the maiden drill program at Gwillim under a 50/50 joint venture.
The results highlight the potential surrounding the historic mine, according to Cygnus.
The company's shares closed up C$0.005 to C$0.17 Thursday on the TSX Venture Exchange.
