CVS Health (CVS) said Wednesday it revamped its direct-to-consumer weight management program, lowering the cost of virtual visits and expanding access to GLP-1 medications through a collaboration with Eli Lilly (LLY).
CVS Health said eligible patients will be able to access transparent pricing, including reimbursed and self-pay options, for Eli Lilly's Zepbound and Foundayo through its app by early in the fourth quarter, with as-early-as same-day pickup at one of about 9,000 pharmacies.
CVS Pharmacy offers all US Food and Drug Administration-approved GLP-1 medications.
CVS also lowered the cost of MinuteClinic virtual weight-loss visits to $29, offering eligible patients access to licensed clinicians with no membership or recurring fee, it added.
Shares of CVS Health and Eli Lilly were up 3.8% and 4.6%, respectively, in premarket trading.
