(Corrects the ticker symbol for Ares Management in the first paragraph.)
Ares Management (ARES) received clearance from the European Commission to acquire joint control of Eni Plenitude alongside parent Eni (E), the EU's competition watchdog said Thursday.
The Commission said the transaction, which relates primarily to the energy sector, doesn't raise competition concerns because Ares is not active in the same or vertically related markets as Eni Plenitude.
The deal was reviewed under the Commission's simplified merger review procedure, it said.
