Chinese shares opened higher on Tuesday, supported by a decline in oil prices as the conflict between the U.S. and Iran remained at a stalemate.
The Shanghai Composite Index, the main gauge of Chinese stocks, opened 0.2% higher to 3,816.37. The Shenzhen Component Index rose 0.9% to 13,572.95.
Oil prices fell as optimism grew over a potential easing of Middle East tensions, reducing worries about supply shocks.
The move came after President Trump announced he was postponing a fresh attack on Iran as a show of goodwill in peace negotiations-a claim that Tehran has since dismissed, denying that any dialogue is occurring.
