China's broad M2 money supply grew 7.7% year over year to 355.51 trillion yuan as of the end of July, according to data from the People's Bank of China (PBOC) released on Friday.
The growth rate was softer than the 8% expansion recorded in the previous month. It missed the consensus forecast of 7.9% tracked by Investing.com.
Meanwhile, narrow money supply (M1) rose 4% year over year to 115.46 trillion yuan.
