China's industrial production grew 4.5% year over year in July, according to data from the National Bureau of Statistics released Monday.
The reading was lower than the 5.3% expansion recorded in the previous month. It missed the consensus forecast of 5% growth tracked by Investing.com.
By sector, manufacturing output grew 5.5%, mining declined 4.2%, and the production and supply of electricity, heat, gas, and water increased 5%.
On a month-over-month basis, industrial output rose 0.11% in July.
For the first seven months of the year, industrial output rose 5.3% year over year.
