China's fixed asset investment contracted 6.7% year over year in the first seven months of 2026, according to data from the National Bureau of Statistics released Monday.
The reading was lower than the 5.7% contraction pace recorded in the prior period. It missed the consensus forecast of a 6.2% decrease tracked by Investing.com.
Investment in infrastructure declined 3.6% year over year, while manufacturing sector investment fell 1.7%.
