China's annual consumer inflation accelerated to 0.8% in August, according to data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on Wednesday.
The reading was in line with the consensus forecast of 0.8% tracked by Investing.com, and compared with the six-month low of 0.5% recorded in July.
Food prices fell 1.4% year over year in August, while non-food prices rose 1.2%. Consumer goods prices increased 0.8%, while service prices also climbed 0.8%.
On a month-on-month basis, the CPI rose 0.4%, rebounding from a three-month streak of declines.
