China Eastern Airlines (HKG:0670, SHA:600115) expects net loss to widen to 2.4 billion yuan to 1.8 billion yuan, compared with 1.43 billion yuan a year earlier.
The airline attributed the forecast to a sharp increase in jet fuel prices amid geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, according to a Tuesday Hong Kong bourse filing.
Shares of the company fell nearly 2% in recent trade.
