Business confidence for the next five years among companies operating in China jumped 17 percentage points to 58% in 2026, according to the 2026 China Business Report released by the American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai on Thursday.
The number of enterprises saying the business climate was transparent rose 7 percentage points to 55%, AmCham said.
Investment confidence grew, with 28% of respondents seeing higher investments in 2025, the biggest in four years, the chamber said.
Businesses that redirected their China investments out of the country fell to 39%, the lowest in several years, according to the survey.
More companies were expanding their business strategy to include the U.S. and the rest of the world at 29%, while 24% of those surveyed said they will expand within China, the report said.
