Chengtun Mining (SHA:600711) posted first-half attributable net profit of 1.80 billion yuan, up 71% from 1.05 billion yuan the previous year.
Earnings per share rose year over year to 0.595 yuan from 0.341 yuan, according to a filing with the Shanghai bourse.
Operating revenue climbed 40% to 19.3 billion yuan from 13.8 billion yuan.
Shares of the miner fell 5% in recent trade.
