Champion Iron (CIA.TO, ASX: CIA) reported first quarter net loss per share of C$0.07, compared to net income per share of C$0.05, a year earlier.
The company said the net loss was primarily driven by an unrealized foreign exchange loss of C$17.2 million on net monetary liabilities denominated in foreign currencies, and unfavourable fair value adjustments of C$17.6 million on derivative instruments.
Revenues fell to C$356.9 million in the three months ended June 30, 2026, compared with C$390 million, a year-ago. Consensus estimate compiled by FactSet was C$423.3 million.
Shares of the company closed down 0.8% to C$3.86 on Wednesday on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
