CGI Working With US DLA, University of Tennessee to Study Warehouse Management in Conflict Areas

By

CGI (GIB-A.TO) is working with the US Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) and the University of Tennessee in Knoxville to investigate how agentic artificial intelligence (AI) and quantum computing can support advanced warehouse management, the company said on Thursday.

The applied research initiative, called the Quantum Pathfinder, is aimed at bolstering supply chain and logistic resilience in hostile and conflict environments, a statement added.

"Quantum computing will not arrive as a single product launch; it will arrive as a series of hard research problems solved against real mission constraints that evolve as compute modalities emerge," said Victor Foulk, who heads emerging technologies at CGI Federal. "We are investing to do that work now, alongside a federal partner that understands the mission and an academic partner with deep research expertise."

CGI shares were last seen down CA$1.39 to CA$96.19 on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
