Cargo Vessel Hit by Unidentified Projectile Catches Fire in Hormuz, 2 Casualties, UKMTO Says

A cargo vessel was hit by an unidentified projectile and caught fire in the Strait of Hormuz on Wednesday, causing two casualties, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations said in an alert.

"The company security officer of a cargo vessel reports being srtuck by an unknown projectile. The vessel is on fire and adrift. All crew have been evacuated with 2 casualties reported," the UKMTO said.

The incident is being investigated by authorities.

No environmental impact was reported yet because of the incident, the agency added.
