Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CP.TO) after trade Wednesday reported second-quarter diluted earnings per share of C$1.15, down from C$1.33 per share a year ago.
Core adjusted diluted EPS rose to C$1.27 in the quarter, up from C$1.12 a year earlier.
Analysts polled by FactSet expected earnings per share of C$1.24.
Revenue rose 13% to C$4.2 billion from C$3.7 billion in the year-ago quarter.
Analysts expected revenue of C$4.11 billion.
"We are well-positioned to accelerate volume and earnings growth in the second half of 2026,"
Chief Executive Officer Keith Creel said.
The railway's core adjusted operating ratio, an efficiency measure were lower is better, rose 90 basis points to 61.6%
The company's shares closed down C$1.07 to C$128.36 on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
