Canada Nickel Company (CNC.V) closed its upsized non-brokered private placement raising C$21 million, it said in a statement on Friday.
The company offered 14-million units at C$1.50 apiece. As part of the offering, 666,667 units were issued to Avenir Minerals following the exercise of certain pro rata participation rights, it said.
Each unit consists of one common share and one-half of one common share purchase warrant, with each whole warrant entitling the holder to buy a share for C$2.25 at any time for a three-year period following the issue date.
Proceeds will be used to support permitting and engineering activities for the advancement of its projects, repayment of outstanding indebtedness, and working capital and general corporate needs, it said.
Shares of the company were last seen down 1.7% at C$1.47 on the TSX Venture Exchange.
