BriaCell Therapeutics (BCT.TO) said on Wednesday that the US Food and Drug Administration cleared the way for the company to initiate a Phase 1/2a clinical study of its prostate cancer immunotherapy candidate Bria-PROS+.
The agency issued a "Study May Proceed" letter after reviewing BriaCell's Investigational New Drug application for Bria-PROS+, a statement said.
BriaCell was awarded a $2 million grant from the US National Cancer Institute last year to support the manufacturing and clinical evaluation of Bria-PROS+.
BrlaCell shares were last seen up C$0.22 at C$4.93 on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
