BP Calls Out Labor Group for Delays on Pay Package Talks for Workers at US Refinery

By

BP (BP.L) called out representatives of workers at its Whiting refinery in the US for delaying negotiations on a new wage deal.

In a Wednesday letter to union leaders, the British oil and gas company reiterated its request for the resumption of talks and the union's agreement to the use of the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service's mediation services in the discussions.

BP said the letter followed unanswered attempts in June and July to resume negotiations, adding that the delay tactics are "neither constructive nor a good faith effort" in resolving the matter. The company also affirmed its commitment to bargaining in good faith.
