Boston Scientific Cyberattack Could Extend Rebound Timeline, Truist Says

By

Boston Scientific's (BSX) cyberattack could extend the timeframe for a sustainable stock rebound, but the company still offers relative risk/reward skewed to the upside over the next six to 12 months, Truist Securities said in a note Tuesday.

The company earlier said it is unlikely to meet its Q3 and full-year 2026 net sales growth and adjusted earnings per share guidance ranges.

Truist said the cyberattack's impact on revenue and EPS remains unframed, while recent company updates indicate that the distribution network has been substantially restored and manufacturing has resumed across most facilities globally.

Truist said 2026 and likely 2027 estimates will need to come down, with the Q3 earnings call in October the next likely official guidance update.

The brokerage expects upcoming investor presentations to provide additional information on the cyberattack recovery pathway, affected business segments and potential share loss or recapture.

Truist maintained a buy rating and a $57 price target.
